For me, this work is about my own internal voice. I suffer from SAD, and this year was especially difficult for me with the very cold, very rainy winter we had here. So when it came time to start this project I can only say Spring was calling to me. The color choice was influenced by the fresh and changing light and the buds I began to see in my garden in February. And certainly the circle is representative of the ever present wheel of seasons and life, for which I am grateful to see it turn again this year!
Quilted, painted, with copper embellishment, mounted onto stretched canvas.
WOW Mandi I love this! The color, the simplicity, the copper, and the message it represents.

ReplyDeleteMandi this is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI like the message very much...and...the wonderful stitching.
ReplyDeleteI feel spring in it.
ReplyDeleteI totally love this Mandi! The color and stitching are truly wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Mandi! I also see the circular irrigated fields visible from an airplane when flying over this country of ours.
ReplyDeleteIt really does convey the hope of spring from the drab of winter. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I make my quilted clocks on stretched canvas. You could poke a whole right though the center of that circle, add clock works & hands, & you'd have a fabulous clock!
ReplyDeleteSorry I get carried away at times!
It's a lovely piece. I love copper & the springy green. Nice quilting & very nice design!
