Since I started designing things on my own, whether postcards, art quilts or big quilts, is that I try to force myself to come up with various options. I don't allow myself to start on anything until I have at least 5 ideas. I don't know why I picked 5 but it seems to get me beyond the obvious answers.
I'll share my first 2 ideas but not the rest. I've been wanting to do another pure kaleidoscope so when I first heard "stretch" I immediately thought of doing a kaleidoscope with the points extending to the edge of the space. That might still be fun to do but I passed. The second idea was to do a lopsided kapeidoscope in kind of an amoeba shape. It's another one that might be fun but I'm not going there either!
I'm in idea #4 and 5 is hanging around the edges of my brain. If I get to September 1 without a settled idea I may have to spend more time in my idea incubator - the shower! That's where I seem to solve all problems. Labor Day weekend is my deadline for starting.
It sounds like you are already stretching your brain!I Hope you are having fun with it!
ReplyDeleteI still got nothin' although your post does have me thinking. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteInteresting ideas Vicki. It'll be fun to see what you finally settle on.
