The July Challenge was clever and "challenging". We were to use 3 colors. The first color was to start with the first letter of our first name. The second color was to start with the first letter of our last name. The third color is black. Oh dear, what do I do with Jandik. Thanks husband. He said Jade and then Slate grey. These are even colors I like.

Blogger insisted that the detail post first.

The block is one I work with and need to do even more with. The piece insisted that each color area be quilted separately and in the background color.
So true to your style Sandy. I love how the jade looks so fresh against the black and slate.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of how a the rains of a grey day refresh the gardens.
Awesome quilt, Sandy. Love those colors. Your post posted itself this morning, too!
ReplyDeleteThe color blocks play nicely with the slate and the quilting is perfect. Great piece!

ReplyDeleteThe colors work so well together. Reminds me of getting lost in a cave and finally seeing the light of day--what a beautiful site. Great quilting too.
ReplyDeleteYou did an excellent job balancing this piece. Your scale with size and hue keep my eyes moving, love it!
ReplyDeleteSubtle and sophisticated, Sandy. Nice rhythm, too!
